The State Botanical Garden of Georgia is pleased to welcome William Carromero, the National Botanist for the USDA Forest Service, for a special evening conversation. The U.S. Forest Service is a multi-faceted agency that manages and protects 154 national forests and 20 grasslands in 43 states and Puerto Rico. Carromero will discuss research on natural areas, with the overall goal to have forest and grasslands that are healthy and self-sustaining. He will also discuss how the Forest Service supports and implements native plant material policy for revegetation and restoration work to improve ecosystem diversity and support pollinators.
