Students will learn about the geological history of Georgia's barrier islands and how that history drives the ecological processes at work on the coast today. We will explore the major plant communities on the island and learn to identify the most important plant and animal species. Meet at the Little St. Simon's dock on the north end of St. Simon's Island at 8:30am (directions supplied when you register), boat transportation to and from the island is included in fee. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring water, lunch, sun screen, and insect repellent. You must pre-register for this class.
