Looking for a way of becoming more involved in the State Botanical Garden? Want to learn more about educational programs and special events? Then why not join our Friends organization?
The Friends of the Garden is our membership support group. Formed in 1972, this 501(c)(3) charitable organization is dedicated exclusively to supporting The State Botanical Garden of Georgia. As a member of the Friends, you'll enjoy the privileges of membership while supporting the work and mission of the Garden.
Programs and Events
Members are invited to attend educational programs and special events throughout the year, including the Annual Meeting which features a notable "garden celebrity." Our programs and events heighten awareness of the Garden while providing information about plants, gardening, landscaping and the natural environment. Tours and TripsJoining the Friends is a wonderful way to get to know other people. At least twice each year, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in trips to horticultural, botanical and historical points of interest. Past destinations have included tours of the North Georgia Mountains, Hills and Dales Estate, Dunaway Gardens, the Biltmore Estate, Massee Lane Gardens, Barnsley Gardens, the North Carolina Arboretum, the Atlanta History Center, and visits to the Atlanta Garden and Patio Show and Southeastern Flower Show. Reciprocal Garden Program
As a member, you will be eligible to participate in the American Horticultural Society Reciprocal Garden Program. Included in your new member packet will be a listing of botanical gardens, arboreta and conservatories across the U.S. who offer discounts to our Friends members (with presentation of your membership card).
Newsletters and DiscountsMembers receive Garden News, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a list of events, gardening information and timely articles. Members receive special invitations and advance notification of programs and events (most at discounted prices), 10% discount in the Garden Gift Shop and Gardenside Café, and special consideration at our spring and fall plant sales.
