Carnivorous PlantsCertificate in Native Plants – Athens

September 12, 2020, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Carnivorous Plants – Certificate Elective Course

$50 General Admission, $45.00 Members

While most plants are content to capture nutrients from the soil, carnivorous plants catch insects to supplement their diet. Since many carnivorous plants are native to the southeast, you can grow them right in your backyard! Kevin “the Plant Man” Tarner, professional horticulturist, will present a crash course to help carnivorous plants “capture” your attention. Participants will examine live specimens and learn all about their feeding strategies, habitats, cultivation, and conservation efforts. You’ll also get your hands dirty potting up your own plants to take home.
