Students and faculty from the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia will be presenting Clara Schumann: A Portrait at the Cecil B. Day Chapel, State Botanical Garden. In commemoration of Clara Schumann’s 200th birthday (1819-1896), this concert of art songs, piano and chamber works will be accompanied by presentations on her life, education, poets and friends, marriage to Robert Schumann, and her musical legacy. Among the works featured are the Piano Trio in G Minor and Three Romances for Piano and Violin. Come enjoy a bit of birthday cake at a light reception hosted Friends of the Garden by and the beautiful display gardens before the concert.
