Entomology for Gardeners: Identifying & Understanding Common Backyard Arthropods

In this course, you will learn how to identify common arthropods (i.e. insects and arachnids) that are commonly encountered in Georgia gardens. This class will equip you with the necessary knowledge and tools for distinguishing beneficial insects from those which are potentially harmful to the local ecosystem. As a participant in this course, you will also learn about common invasive and introduced arthropods as well as simple methods for improving arthropod biodiversity. Class time will be spent both indoors and outside hiking in the garden.
