Pete Seeger Memorial Concert featuring John McCutcheon

May 28, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Pete Seeger Memorial Concert

$20 General Admission, $15 Members

Pete Seeger was one of the most influential American folk musicians. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of his birth, the State Botanical Garden of Georgia and Athens Folk Music and Dance Society are sponsoring a special extra 2019 Sunflower Concert. The renowned folk musician John McCutcheon will perform, featuring songs from “To Everyone in All the World,” his 2018 album of Pete Seeger songs. John has been called folk music’s Renaissance man: a master nstrumentalist, powerful singer-songwriter, storyteller, activist, and author.

Seeger himself says of McCutcheon, “(he) is not only one of the best musicians in the USA, but also a great
singer, songwriter, and song leader. And not just incidentally, he is committed to helping hard-working people everywhere to organize and push this world in a better direction.” Johnny Cash has called him “the most impressive instrumentalist I’ve ever heard.”

A light reception will be offered at intermission. Limited tickets available.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Garden.
