DESCRIPTION:Register Online\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTrees may be most beautiful in the winter\, when they are stripped down to their basic architecture. But can we know them without their leaves? In this class\, students will learn the basics of identifying trees in winter by studying twigs\, bark\, leaf scars\, fruits and tree form. Students will learn to use a hand lens and a simple key for woody plants to identify species. Class time will be divided between classroom exercises and a field trip to the deciduous woods at the State Botanical Garden.

She is recognized for establishing project-driven professional networks and spearheading initiatives for the conservation and recovery of endangered species. Ceska is the coordinator for the Georgia Plant Conservation Alliance\, a network of over 100 organizations and private companies dedicated to ecological land management\, native plant conservation\, and the protection of rare and endangered plants. \n\n\n\nEveryone who knows Ceska recognizes her passion for connecting people and plants. She and her colleagues have partnered to develop educational programs for schools\, home gardens\, public landscapes and natural areas\, such as Connect to Protect\, building gardens and habitats for Georgia native plants and the animals that rely upon them for survival. \n\n\n\nThe registration deadline is noon on Jan. 30.

If you are interested in becoming a beekeeper yourself\, this comprehensive seminar featuring Georgia Master Beekeepers and industry professionals will prepare you to establish and manage a successful apiary. This workshop will guide you through understanding the honey bee as well as the steps to obtain your bees\, tools and hives. This program will also cover harvesting\, various hive products and how to use them. Participants will also learn about proper care and some of the common challenges facing beekeepers today. \n\n\n\nEach participant will receive a box lunch\, a copy of First Lessons in Beekeeping and a one-year membership to the Eastern Piedmont Beekeepers Association. As a bonus\, all participants will have the opportunity to participate in a follow-up\, hands-on class at a nearby apiary on March 21.

DESCRIPTION:Purchase Tickets\n\n\n\n\nIn January\, the garden will offer a special event for the new year\, WonderLights Disco Nights\, on Jan. 2-3 and 9-10\, 2026. Disco Nights will allow visitors to experience the light show trail while grooving to disco hits. Ticket prices and entry times for Disco Nights will be the same as Winter WonderLights.
