Homeschool Day

April 6, 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Ages: 7-13 (second to sixth grade)

Fee: $10 per person

Our planet uses various cycles to move nutrients throughout the ecosystem. By hiking through the trails at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, students will be able to explore the water cycle, nitrogen cycle, carbon cycle and phosphorous cycle. They will look at both the importance of nutrients themselves and the way humans interact with them both positively and negatively. The hike will take them through the forest, along the stream and through the wetlands. They will take this time not only to connect with their environment but also to learn how many processes can be connected. Please note that this program will take place on a wooded trail with limited accessibility, so please wear closed-toed shoes and appropriate hiking clothing. For questions, contact us at sbgeduc@uga.edu or 706-583-0894.
