What do Southern Brewing Company and the State Botanical Garden of Georgia have in common? We love plants, we love science, and we love beer which just happens to be a great byproduct of both plants and science. Join Brian Roth, co-owner of Southern Brewing Company, and his team for a beer tasting. Participants will taste Wild Azalea and Cherokee Rose, both of which have been brewed from local ingredients. The Wild Azalea yeast strain was collected on Southern Brewing Company’s property prior to construction, preserved, and re-cultivated for brewing. Join Brian as he shares the story of how collaborations with UGA scientists have helped make this possible. Tastings will take place from 5-6pm followed by a lecture. You must be 21 or older to taste.
