Native Plant Propagation

Learn the basics of propagating native wildflowers! The class will primarily focus on growing native perennials from seed, including seed dormancy classifications and treatments, as well as germination and early-care practices. We will also review and practice dividing perennials, and, time permitting, overview and practice rooting woody cuttings. Participants will leave with perennial divisions and several types of seeds to propagate at home. Time and weather permitting, we may walk around the Mimsie Lanier Center to collect woody cuttings and/or herbaceous perennials to divide, so please dress for the outdoors.
