Location and Parking
The State Botanical Garden of Georgia at the University of Georgia is located approximately 70 miles east of Atlanta and is a short drive from downtown Athens.
Admission and parking at the garden are free. If you enjoy the garden, we ask that you please consider making a small donation at the Welcome Desk in the Visitor’s Center or learning about other ways you can support the garden.
No pets are allowed on garden property, with the exception of service animals.

Garden Guided Tours
The State Botanical Garden of Georgia has several themed gardens among its 323 acres. A Guided Garden Tour is the best way to ensure your group doesn’t miss a thing. Garden tours are led by our experienced and enthusiastic tour guides. To schedule a garden tour, contact Andrea Fischer at afischer@uga.edu.
Group Tours
Customized 90-minute tour for groups of 10 or more.
When: Tuesday–Saturday 10 a.m.–3 p.m. and Sunday noon–3 p.m.
Cost: $5 per person ($50 minimum per tour)
Must be booked and paid for at least one week in advance.
Walk-Up Tours
Standard 1-hour guided tour for groups of less than 10 people.
When: Tuesday-Friday 11 a.m.-noon
Cost: $5 per person, payable at the Garden Gift Shop
Golf Cart Tours
Private 1-hour guided tour for 3-5 people.
When: Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (subject to availability)
Cost: $10 per person, payable at the Garden Gift Shop
UGA Bus Route
The garden is on the Greenhouse Shuttle’s route from UGA’s main campus. Please inform your driver that you would like to visit the garden, or if you are at the garden and wish to travel to another location on the route, please call UGA Campus Transit (706-369-6220 or 706-369-6221) to request that the next bus picks you up.
The route operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
