Invasive Species in the Coastal Plain Certificate in Native Plants – Tifton

September 14, 2019, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Certificate in Native Plants  Tifton Elective: Invasive Species in Georgia – Focus on Coastal Plain

$50 General Admission, $45 Members

Non-native invasive species are one of the greatest threats to Georgia’s ecosystems as well as the native flora and fauna that depend on those ecosystems. In addition to harming our natural areas, they can harm humans both directly and indirectly by reducing the effectiveness of ecosystem services which our natural areas and native species provide. The goals for this class are to be able to recognize the most common invasive species in our area and to learn about some of the ways you can make a difference in preventing the introduction and spread of invasive species in your own landscape. Please note that this class is part of a new program and is located outside of the Athens area.
